Hi There!
I’m Miss Balatskaya
Welcome to my online teaching portfolio! Please use this website to learn more about me and my teaching experience.
About Me
My name is Ms. Balatskaya and I am a recent graduate from State University of New York College at Buffalo. I completed Bachelor degree in Science in Secondary English Education. I was inspired to enter this profession, largely because my grandmother was a teacher. Her commitment and love towards teaching, and her profession provided me with a great deal of exposure to the world of teaching, from a young age.

My passion for teaching has only increased during my Professional Semesters, where I have been responsible for providing quality instruction for middle and high school students. I am greatly looking forward to launching what I know to be an exciting career within the teaching profession, and I am committed to building a supportive, facilitative, and accommodative learning community.
I have always enjoyed being around children of all ages but I particularly love working with young adolescents. It is my desire and passion to impact the lives of children, and that is the main reason I decided to partake in the journey of becoming a teacher. It would truly be an honor to be entrusted to the enrichment of young, eager minds. I consider myself blessed to be able to know that my future consists of impacting the lives of young adolescents through my teaching.
I had a wonderful student teaching experience in both my placemnets. In a 9th grade language arts classroom at Niagara Falls High School, which is located in Niagara Falls, New York. And 7th grade language arts classroom at PS 74 Hamlin Park-Claude and Ouida Clapp Academy middle school, which is located in Buffalo, New York. From this valuable experience, I learned how strong my passion for teaching really is, and for that I am grateful.
There is no doubt that I have grown both personally and professionally during my four years and half of education at Buffalo State college. My growth as a future educator is evident through the work shown in this portfolio. I hope that I will get to experience the joy of watching my future students show the same kind of growth and progress in the years to come. I have always thought of myself as a lifelong learner, and I am aware that becoming a great teacher takes both practice and time.

"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge."
- Albert Einstein
